In a sad turn of events, Britain has decided to leave the European Union, and worse for me, will invariably mean the eventual demise of this site. We should however remember that democracy is one of the tenants of Britishness and if like me you are disappointed and shocked by the result, we should respect the outcome and embrace the future.

For the moment, Britain remains part of Europe and therefore European Law continues to apply so you can enjoy using this site to keep up to date with the United Kingdom's implementation of Directive 2004/38/EC as The Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006, incorporating all of the changes made since its enactment.

Finally, the Government has decided to create a new Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2016 which will be fully enacted in 2017 and will be a new clean starting point for which further amendments might need to be applied.
